Synopsis

Mia’s troubled youth stemmed from being overweight, leading to painful experiences during her adolescence. During high school, she fell in love with a male student she frequently saw during her commute, only to be devastated when he cruelly remarked, “Those legs are probably as thick as my waist, aren’t they?” This shocking incident motivated Mia to begin dieting, successfully losing 25 kilograms over nearly a year and transforming herself into someone with idol-level beauty.

With her newfound appearance, Mia became a gravure idol, appearing on television and gracing magazine covers. However, as she approached her mid-twenties, the emergence of younger idols caused her work opportunities to drastically decline. Witnessing the downfall of older gravure idols around her filled her with a sense of crisis, ultimately leading to her retirement decision. Through the wife of Inuzaki Kazuhisa (Furuta Arata), who attended her diet courses, she met city council power broker Inuzaki and decided to run for office.
