Synopsis

In this mystery series, Sakaki Mariko, a forensic researcher at the Kyoto Prefectural Police Scientific Investigation Research Laboratory, portrayed by Sawaguchi Yasuko, confronts increasingly heinous and high-tech crimes using “science” as her weapon. Blood stains, hair, skin fragments, and bodily fluids—she uses scientific methods to identify microscopic evidence left at crime scenes, and sometimes even invisible evidence that perpetrators have attempted to erase, leading to case resolutions.

This season, the forensic lab welcomes a young female researcher, while the Criminal Investigation Division gets a new male detective. Together with this enhanced “teamwork” and “combination,” they delve deeper into the truth behind each case.
