Set in the picturesque backdrop of Hokkaido, the story follows Kuramoto Aya, a deaf and mute orphan who works as a live-in nursing trainee at the Bihoro Medical Clinic. Abandoned as a baby, Aya clings to hope, waiting for her parents while swinging on a swing gifted by her foster parents. When Dr. Nagai Shuichi (her mentor) arrives at the clinic, Aya begins to fall for him. However, fate takes a turn when Shuichi must return to Tokyo, leaving Aya behind with a promise of marriage upon his return. Tragedy strikes as Shuichi suffers a traumatic accident and loses his memory, forgetting Aya entirely.
