Honnou Switch

Synopsis

“Honnou Switch” is a pure love story about longtime childhood friends who begin a “delayed first love” after becoming adults. Hijiri and Koyori, who have been together since before they can remember, wake up in the same bed, almost naked one morning. The night before, Hijiri had accompanied Koyori, who was drinking in anger after being dumped by her boyfriend. While listening to her complaints and comforting her, the feelings he had long kept hidden for Koyori became unbearable, and they ultimately spent the night together. Hijiri tries to convey that he wasn’t just acting on drunken impulse but had always loved her. However, Koyori wants to pretend it never happened and even goes as far as to prostrate herself in apology. The story depicts Hijiri, who wants to take their relationship a step further, and Koyori, who wants to desperately maintain their childhood friend status rather than risk becoming strangers when they eventually break up.
