Synopsis

Based on the manga of the same name by Taguchi Seichi, this “escapism comedy” follows the daily lives of a cute but unemployed senpai and her manga artist kouhai who is swamped in deadlines. Iwamoto Renka plays the role of “Senpai” a so-called “professional of escapism” who gives her “Kouhai” all kinds of advice, while Tomisato Nao makes her terrestrial TV drama debut as the “Kouhai.”

From sealing away their smartphones in outrageous ways, to reliving childhood in the park, to splurging manuscript fees on luxury ingredients—the story follows the whimsical escapades of the unemployed yet “cute as her only charm” senpai and the overworked “at-the-limit manga artist” kohai. In an age obsessed with time efficiency and cost performance, these two dive headfirst into spur-of-the-moment escapism without a thought for time or money, sending a gentle cheer to modern people bound by daily pressures.
