Synopsis

In the early Showa period, Bando Sumire was born in the Yamate district of Kobe, a girl who loved handicrafts taught to her by her late mother. She grew up wanting for nothing and led a smooth-sailing life through marriage and childbirth, but the war turned everything upside down. Amidst the burnt ruins of the postwar period, she devoted herself to making children’s clothing together with her companions and opened Japan’s first comprehensive children’s goods store. This is a story of women pursuing their dreams after the war.
