Synopsis

Sato Mayumi (portrayed by Nakatani Miki) has been living with her husband Hideaki (Tamaki Hiroshi) and their daughter Reina for 13 years. Though the intense child-rearing years are behind them, their daughter’s admission to a private middle school has put significant financial strain on the household. To maintain their lifestyle, Mayumi decides to return to work for the first time since marriage. However, Hideaki shows little concern for their financial situation and remains unsupportive of both Mayumi’s career and household responsibilities. While Hideaki views housework as mere inconvenience, Mayumi’s frustration with his attitude continues to grow. The situation intensifies when Nasuda Taro and his wife Ayako come to view the model home at the company where Hideaki works. Hideaki finds himself impulsively drawn to Ayako, who is markedly different from Mayumi. As Mayumi strives alone to maintain family harmony, Hideaki feels increasingly constrained and finds himself pursuing a forbidden romance with Ayako that he knows should be avoided.
