Synopsis

The story follows Kimoto Mariko, a 35-year-old freelance writer who has long told herself that love and marriage can wait. One night, she unexpectedly spends a passionate evening with Morihara Kouki, the chef at a small traditional Japanese restaurant she happens to visit.
Although Mariko intends to leave it as nothing more than a one-night memory, fate has other plans when the two unexpectedly reunite during one of her reporting assignments. As Koki steadily and sincerely closes the distance between them, Mariko finds herself increasingly swept up by his earnest affection.
Then, his unexpected words – “Will you be my girlfriend?” – gently knock on the door to her heart, a door she had kept firmly shut for years.
