Synopsis

Shido Genba is the leader of a team at Japan’s Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU). With a long history of government work, he is used to making drastic decisions to save lives, and on the day of the election for Japan’s Prime Minster, he finds himself in action again as CTU uncovers an assassination plot on Urara Asakura, the candidate from the Minsei Party expected by many to become Japan’s first female prime minster. Shido has recently gotten back together with his wife to raise their daughter, Miyu, but on the day of the election, Miyu is kidnapped, and Shido soon discovers the co-occurrence of the two events may be no coincidence. Shido navigates the twists and turns of the ever-deepening assassination plot in what ends up becoming the longest day of his life, with every action putting the fate of his family – and the country – at stake.
