Ninomiya portrays Tokai Seishiro, a surgeon with genius-level surgical skills, particularly in suturing techniques. Despite working at a university hospital, he’s a lone wolf with no interest in climbing the career ladder, remaining a perpetual rank-and-file medical staff member. While he boasts a 100% surgery success rate as a solitary genius surgeon, his arrogant personality and behavior constantly create friction with those around him. Colleagues describe him as someone who “saves patients but kills doctors,” earning him the nickname “The Devil of the Operating Room.”

Into Tojo University Medical School’s affiliated hospital, where Tokai wields his scalpel, a newly appointed doctor from another university introduces cutting-edge medical surgical equipment that “requires absolutely no surgical skill,” threatening to revolutionize surgical procedures. Can surgeons truly entrust part of the surgical process to cardiac surgery medical devices that claim to be usable by anyone, regardless of skill level? Is there a hidden agenda behind this technology introduction? Suspecting ulterior motives, Tokai begins his fight against this technological advancement.

This season will be based on Kaido’s novels “Blazing Scalpel 1990” and “Cerisier Center 1991.”

Ninomiya Kazunari returns this time as Amagi Yukihiko, a world-renowned genius surgeon who toys with both people and money. He has worked for many years at the Heart Centre in Gold Coast, Australia, where his surgical skills are nothing short of genius. He is a world-renowned expert in coronary artery bypass surgery and the only doctor capable of performing the direct anastomosis technique. On the other hand, to be eligible for Amagi’s surgery, one has to win a chance game with a 50/50 outcome, and he demands half of the patient’s fortune as a stake. Because of this, he is known among doctors as “Diable” (The Devil).
