Synopsis

The Maezaki Family Court is located in a provincial city about an hour by bullet train from Tokyo. Keigo Ishikawa, who has gone from being an “assistant investigator” to an investigator, is put in charge of divorce mediation for a married couple at the urging of judge Yoshio Kuwata.

On the first day of mediation, the person who appeared was Anna Udagawa, the charismatic editor-in-chief of a popular fashion magazine. Anna decides to divorce her husband Ryosuke, who runs a small photo studio in Maebashi, and when she demands custody of her elementary school daughter Sasuke, she is dissatisfied and asks the family court for mediation.
