Synopsis

The Hayashida family has six members: two sons, two daughters, and their parents. The protagonist, Hayashida Manami (Horikita Maki), is an assistant at a small magazine production company in Tokyo. At home, she’s the responsible eldest child who understands her mother best and looks after her three siblings. The eldest son, Hayashida Taichi (Ohkura Tadayoshi), works as a designer at a design firm, where he struggles to get his proposals approved. The second son, Hayashida Koji (Nakajima Kento), is a university student popular with women and frequently attends social mixers. However, he harbors a hidden past. The youngest child, Hayashida Miko (Taketomi Seika), is a high-achieving high school student aspiring to become a lawyer, though she too carries her secret troubles.

Their parents, Hayashida Shinpei (Miyake Yuji) and Aiko (Tanaka Misako) run a small bakery called “PANNTEN” and appear to be a happily married couple. They seem like an ordinary family until Shinpei’s sudden death changes everything. While Aiko struggles to cope with her husband’s unexpected passing, Manami tries to support the family. However, she faces conflicts with her siblings, who each have opinions about the situation. Amidst their unresolved grief, Aiko shocks Manami with news of her pregnancy.
