Synopsis

“Truth is stranger than fiction, even for married couples.”

An entertaining home drama unfolds, depicting the growth of a married couple navigating the turbulent Meiji era, told from the wife’s perspective with vivid humor and liveliness. This year marks the 100th anniversary of Natsume Soseki’s death. While Natsume Soseki’s works such as “I Am a Cat,” “Botchan,” and “Kokoro” continue to be beloved by people today, many of these masterpieces were based on his married life with his wife, Kyoko. Soseki was brilliant and methodical, yet incredibly difficult and moody. In contrast, Kyoko was generous and quick to speak her mind. These opposites would sometimes clash and sometimes support each other, but they eventually built an irreplaceable home together.
