Synopsis

Shinomiya Maiko is a woman who grew up in a troubled home yet fulfilled her grandmother’s hopes by becoming a teacher. The story unfolds when a single letter arrives for her student, Saeki Akiko. The sender is none other than “myself, twenty years in the future.”
By writing back, Akiko manages to endure her father’s death, the loneliness of living with a mother who has shut herself off emotionally, and the violence inflicted by her mother’s boyfriend and school bullies. However, she soon finds herself cornered by an unthinkable truth. Sinking into deep despair, Akiko and the only friend she trusts, Arisa, begin planning a forbidden act: killing her parents.
 
Determined to save Akiko from this tragic path, Maiko reaches out to her with everything she has.
