It has been revealed that The NHK morning drama “Tora ni Tsubasa,” starring Ito Sairi is being adapted into a movie with a completely original story. The film is scheduled for release in 2027.
 
Inspired by Mibuchi Yoshiko, Japan’s first female lawyer who later became the nation’s first female judge and court chief, the drama follows “Torako”, portrayed by Ito Sairi, as she joins forces with like-minded women to carve out a path where none existed—a story that struck a powerful chord with audiences across generations.
The film expands the story on a grand, era-spanning scale, introducing new episodes that could not be fully explored in the drama as well as what comes next – culminating in Torako taking on her “final case.”
