Synopsis

The protagonist of this story is Sato Kenji, a struggling solo comedian whose act revolves around kaiju jokes. Having never had a girlfriend in his life, he finds his only refuge in an “imaginary world” where he casts people he dislikes as kaiju and imagines himself as the hero who defeats them.
One day, Ichikawa Risa appears, telling Kenji that she finds him “funny.”
Kenji falls in love for the very first time, but his awkward personality gets in the way, and before he can confess his feelings, Risa begins to distance herself from him.
Before long, her hidden secret comes to light.
