Synopsis

A literary epic created to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Dazai Osamu’s birth. Oba Yozo, the son of a wealthy family in Tsugaru, has been putting on a false persona since childhood to fit in with those around him. After moving to Tokyo and enrolling in high school, Yozo meets Horiki, a hedonistic young man attending the same art school. Drawn into a life of debauchery and excessive drinking with Horiki, Yozo finds himself surrounded by women yet increasingly consumed by a sense of emptiness.
