Synopsis

The closed environment of prison serves as a setting where human relationships unfold with greater intensity than in regular society—featuring conflicts between inmates, interactions with prison guards, and struggles with family and those left behind. This work portrays hope and rehabilitation through the stories of inmates carrying various circumstances and the prison officers dedicated to their reformation. Additionally, a small act of compassion shown by one passionate prison guard to an inmate eventually develops into a major incident that shakes the entire prison system.

At the heart of this story are Munakata Akihiro, a young prison guard working at Kaga Prison, and Hiishi Tsukasa, a calm and collected senior prison officer.

Munakata is a passionate prison guard who believes in the inmates and upholds the “principle” that “giving prisoners hope to live is the guard’s mission.” He connects with each inmate personally and strives daily to do everything possible for their rehabilitation.
In contrast, Hiishi, who has been assigned to Kaga Prison with a special mission, is a calm and collected reserved figure shrouded in mystery. The two characters clash as they get closer to the truth behind various incidents that occur in the prison, and save the hearts of inmates, guards, and their families.
