The Night Scoop

Synopsis

This work portrays a touching human drama about a fractured family experiencing a miraculous night together. Elementary school students Asako and Hayato, living in Osaka, are huge fans of the TV show “Detective! Night Scoop.” They appear on the program with a request to “visit a school at night,” which the show fulfills.

Years later, Asako and Hayato marry each other, but their relationship faces a divorce crisis due to accumulated differences in personality and values. While struggling to conclude their future, their daughter Kotone runs away from home.

In her absence, Asako and Hayato discover an old recording of their “Detective! Night Scoop” appearance in Kotone’s desk drawer. This discovery prompts them to revisit the “night school” for the first time since that memorable day, setting the stage for a potentially transformative experience for the struggling family.
