Synopsis

The story follows administrative veterinarian Makita (Kase Ryo in his Drama W debut), who becomes conflicted when assigned to an animal welfare center where he must confront the harsh reality of euthanasia procedures. Toda Erika plays his colleague Hatae Aki, who shares similar moral struggles in their work. Tanaka Yuko makes her Drama W debut as the new center director, Takano Ayako, who leads efforts to reform the facility’s practices.

 

The drama explores the painful contradiction faced by veterinarians who became doctors to save animals but must work within a system that sometimes overlooks saveable lives. As these dedicated professionals struggle with overwhelming moral conflicts, they gradually find paths toward healing and institutional change. The series examines the complex relationship between humans and animals in modern society, encouraging viewers to reconsider how we handle animal welfare issues.
