Synopsis

Kagiyama Kohei, an office worker, and his childhood friend, Tokura Shiori, come across a painting that is believed to have been drawn by Tokugawa Iemitsu. On the day of the appraisal, the appraiser looks at the painting, saying it’s the real deal, and upon seeing the two friends, begins to tell a heartbreaking anecdote of love related to the painting.

Traveling to the Edo period, a young Tokugawa Iemitsu wants to escape his life. His education advisor, Okubo Hikozaemon, entrusts Iemitsu to Isshin Tasuke and another friend, to let Iemitsu live a disguised life as a fishmonger. While disguised, Iemitsu meets Osen, a town girl aiming to become a doctor, and eventually falls in love with her.
