Zetsumeshi Road

Suda Tamio is an ordinary salaryman. He experiences various stress throughout his daily life. His only pleasure is to set out on trips to find “Zetsumeshi.” Zetsumeshi refers to endangered meals, that may no longer exist in the future. While his wife Kanae and child go attend concerts by their favourite idol groups, he leaves home on Friday after work and returns home Saturday night.

Because of the Coronavirus, Suda Tamio has been stuck at home, and unable to venture and find new restaurants. Finally, idol performances resume, and with his wife and daughter gone, Tamio is able to go on his next trip.

Season 2

Tamio, under the guise of a business trip, is planning to eat more delicious food. While traveling, he meets a mysterious man, and what is supposed to be a healing tour turns into an overnight car trip with a mysterious looking tough man and a man who couldn’t relax!

Suda Tamio (played by Hamatsu Takayuki) is an ordinary salaryman. Following his motto of ‘Never inviting anyone, never involving others, and keeping the budget within pocket money’, he embarks on trips in his car every weekend in search of endangered delicious meals known as “Zetsumeshi.” One day, with only a short time remaining in 2024, Tamio receives permission from his wife Kanae for a three-day, two-night trip to Ibaraki and Kanagawa prefectures. However, recent price hikes due to inflation begin to affect even Tamio’s small grand adventure… Will Tamio be able to successfully complete his final “Zetsumeshi pilgrimage”!? His last legendary meal journey of 2024 is about to begin!

A car-camping × gourmet drama! In search of incredible dishes that may soon disappear, Suda Tamio heads to Fukushima Prefecture.
