Tantei wa Bar ni Iru

Sapporo, Hokkaido is home to Susukino, one of Asia’s most renowned entertainment districts. In this bustling nightlife hub lives a detective who is drinking with his partner Takada at their favorite bar. Suddenly, they receive a call from a woman identifying herself as Kondo Kyoko, requesting their help. Assuming the case will be a simple one, the two jump to get to work – only to discover things are not as straightforward as they seem….

Based in Sapporo’s Susukino district, a detective and his partner – who also works as his driver – Takada, continue to scrape by, while taking on odd jobs in order to earn daily cash. After Masako-chan, a cross-dressing friend of theirs, is found dead, and the official investigation making little progress, the detective decides to launch his own inquiry, only to discover bigger forces behind the case, including that of a charismatic politician.
Before long, a beautiful violinist named Yumiko, who had been Masako-chan’s devoted idol, appears to ask the detectives to uncover the truth behind the murder.

Set in Susukino, Sapporo, the story follows a detective who knows every corner of the city’s underworld and nightlife. His partner Takada (Matsuda Ryuhei) brings him a missing persons case involving a university student named Reiko. As they begin their investigation, the duo becomes entangled with Mari, the enigmatic and beautiful owner of a modeling agency. What starts as a routine search soon spirals into a major incident.

Set in Susukino, Sapporo, this is a new movie in the Tantei wa Bar ni Iru series that follows a detective (Oizumi Yo) and his partner Takada, as they get involved in troublesome cases and try to uncover the truth.

One freezing winter night, the black rotary phone rings inside the bar “Keller Oohata,” the detective’s usual haunt.
“I need you to deliver a letter to someone.”
The voice on the line belongs to Junko – the woman the detective once loved with all his heart.
What begins as a mysterious request soon pulls the detective and Takada into a far-reaching conspiracy. Before long, the story accelerates toward a shocking and completely unpredictable turn of events.
