Gentle Waves, Perfect Harmony: A Tale of Pure Marriage in Pre-War Japan
Based on a manga, “Namiura” is a heartwarming story depicting the modest yet peaceful daily life of a pure-hearted couple living in pre-war Japan. In 1936, 20-year-old Natsumi suddenly finds herself married to Takimasa, a lieutenant in the Imperial Navy. Both inexperienced in marriage and relationships, the couple gradually grows closer to each other.
Yoshine Kyoko takes on the role of Natsumi, who is suddenly informed by her father about her engagement to Takimasa. Despite having no romantic experience or familiarity with men, she earnestly tries to support Takimasa.
Honda Kyoya is Takimasa, a character who appears serious, quiet, and seemingly cold. However, he simply doesn’t know how to interact with women, and despite his awkwardness, he gradually forms an emotional connection with Natsumi.
