Synopsis
Iryu Sousa is a seasonal show depicting Assistant Police Investigator Itomura Satoshi, who does not care about the scientific approach and instead pays a great deal of attention to the things the victims carried with them.
In Season 4, Itomura is transferred from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Scientific Investigation Team to the 1st Investigation Division of the Kyoto Prefectural Police Station.
In Season 5, he joins the Special Crime Management and Control Office in Kyoto.

Satoshi Itomura is demoted from the Metropolitan Police Department First Investigation to the Tsukishima Police Station. A case then occurs in the normally peaceful Tsukishima District. Megumi Kagami, who works at the Tsukishima Police Station is kidnapped.
Soon, Kyo Kagami, who is Megumi’s father, receives a phone call stating “I kidnapped your daughter.” Kyo Kagami’s ex-subordinate, Satoshi Itomura, goes to his house right away. According to Kyo Kagami, the kidnapper sent a video clip which shows Megumi Kagami unconscious. Megumi Kagami had a kidney transplant six months ago and her condition could deteriorate.
A headquarters for the case is set up at the Tsukishima Police Station. Chief Detective Kyoko Mizusawa and Yuji Sakuma begin to investigate. Meanwhile, Satoshi Itomura pays attention to an article left behind, that was found in the room of a murder case. He requests an analysis of the item, but his request is turned down by Detective Masayoshi Machida of the Metropolitan Police Department First Investigation. But, Satoshi Itomura can’t forget about the article left behind and asks Shigeru Muraki (Masahiro Komoto) to analyze the item. The results leads to a match with a person involved in a case five years earlier which Kyo Kagami was involved in. Satoshi Itomura senses a connection between the kidnapping and the case from 5 years earlier.

Nagatsu Ryoko, who belongs to the Agency for Cultural Affairs, is found dead in the mountain. One month ago, she discovered a Buddha statue at a mountain shrine. Her death seems accidental, caused by Ryoko slipping, but Itomura Satoshi determines that her death was not accidental.
On her day off, Sakura Michika (Toda Keiko) participates in a waterfall meditation tour and accidentally discovers the corpse of a mountain ascetic practitioner floating up from the waterfall basin. The body had been dead for about a month, and the victim had been strangled by someone before being abandoned upstream, flowing downstream until getting caught on driftwood at the bottom of the waterfall basin, where it had been submerged underwater for some time. Itomura Satoshi (Kamikawa Takaya), who rushed to the scene, becomes interested in the strange piece of evidence after hearing that there was only a single bird feather found inside the wicker basket that the corpse had been carrying on its back.
The eccentric detective who looks for clues in articles left by victims is back again in a winter special, this time involving an orchestra, diamonds, and folded paper cranes.

Itomura Satoshi (Kamikawa Takaya) is a detective with the Special Investigations Office at the Kyoto Prefectural Police’s First Investigation Division. He pieces together the meaning of the personal effects and things left behind at crime scenes, giving voice to the silent dead bodies. Itomura not only solves cases but also helps give the bereaved families closure. Considered an eccentric by the people around him, he does things his own way and fails to read situations, much to the frustration of his partner Kanzaki Rio (Kuriyama Chiaki).
Itomura Satoshi (Kamikawa Takaya) is an assistant police investigator who belongs to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Scientific Investigation Team. Reenactments, fingerprint and voice data collections, profiling… His team collects scientific evidence and pieces together fragments of information to help build evidences. However, Itomura often does not care about the scientific approach and instead pays a great deal of attention to the things that the victims always carried with them or treasured. And he focuses on these things because they usually carry the victim’s dying wishes, understanding that last message not only helps solve the cases but also brings closure to the depressed family of victims.
