Synopsis

During the Pacific War, the real-life destroyer “Yukikaze” was a small, highly maneuverable vessel that served as “the navy’s hardest worker” and “the sea’s jack-of-all-trades,” excelling in combat, fleet escort, transportation of troops and supplies, landing support, and rescuing crew members from sunken ships. After surviving the war almost completely undamaged, she continued to sail as a repatriation ship following the war, returning approximately 13,000 people who had been left behind in foreign territories back to Japan. This work is produced as fiction based on these historical facts, with Takenouchi portraying Captain Terazawa Kazutoshi of the “Yukikaze.”
