Synopsis

It all started in Roppongi as an overlap between timing and fate that guided photographer Miyazawa Masaaki to an exhibition at the Roppongi Hills Mori Arts Center Gallery – it was “Tsuki no Hikari” by the internationally known calligrapher Kanazawa Shoko. With her works displayed throughout Japan and known world-wide, Miyazawa had long-since held interest in her craft, but there – meeting the artist herself and appreciating the exhibit – an impulse he hadn’t felt before overtook him. The next day, with his camera in tow, he returned to the showroom. With over 10,000 shots, it was an opportunity to get a project rolling… To present the person behind the work, showcasing the vigor and spirit that is Kanazawa Shoko.
