Synopsis

Legendary assassin Himura Kenshin (Sato Takeru), once revered as Hitokiri Battousai, survived the turbulent Bakumatsu period with a single sword. He now welcomes a new era by leading a peaceful existence, but lurking behind the scenes in Kyoto is anything but tranquil. Shishio Makoto (Fujiwara Tstsuya), the man who took over the title of “Kage no Hitokiri” as Kenshin’s successor is said to be operating in the city’s shadows, but he pays the price once the government fears he knows too much. Burned from head to toe, Shishio returns to exact revenge, gathering arm dealers and warmongers as his personal army, and forcing Kenshin to enter his final battle.
