Synopsis

Set in Nagasaki in the summer of 1945, immediately after the atomic bombing, this screenplay was based on memoirs compiled by Japanese Red Cross nurses who treated atomic bomb survivors, written 35 years after the bombing.

During the Pacific War, classmates and childhood friends Sumi, Atsuko and Misao return to their hometown of Nagasaki when their nursing school closes due to air raids. The three enjoy precious time with their families and lovers after a long absence, but on August 9th at 11:02 AM, their lives are forever changed when an atomic bomb falls on Nagasaki.
