Synopsis

The story is a period drama set in Edo’s bustling theater district, centered on a legendary incident that became the talk of the town. One snowy night, right beside a playhouse, a beautiful young man named Kikunosuke carried out an act of vengeance. Witnessed by many, the event was soon celebrated as a noble tale.
 
A year and a half later, the samurai Kase Soichiro (Emoto Tasuku), claiming to be a relative of Kikunosuke, arrives at the theater in search of the full story behind the vendetta. Through the testimonies of those who were connected to Kikunosuke, the hidden secrets behind the revenge gradually come to light.
 
Emoto takes on the role of Soichiro, who pursues the case with a detective-like sharp eye, while Watanabe plays Shinoda Kinji, the chief playwright of the Morita Theater where Soichiro arrives.
