Synopsis

Middle-aged detective Fukama (Kawase Yota) has a frightening tendency to become erratically violent when triggered. Although he had formerly been applauded for ridding the streets of crime, repeated scandals and a death worked against his favor, and he was sent to a medical institution overseas. A few years later, only halfway through his treatment, Fukama is called back to Japan—but an undeniable, unsettling change has swept through the town. Sordid shops he frequented, drinking buddies, and criminals he took care of have all disappeared, and members of the neighborhood association have formed a vigilante group that frequently conducts “patrols.” When Fukama realizes the truth behind the seemingly safe, secure town, his long-forgotten rage begins to flicker once again…
