Synopsis

Set in Shizuoka during the 1970s and 1980s, this drama follows the tumultuous life of Fujiko, the protagonist. After giving birth to Mari, Fujiko experiences the fleeting joy of motherhood before facing relentless mistreatment from her husband Jiro’s family. Eventually, they even go so far as to kidnap Mari. With the help of her own mother, Chiyo, Fujiko manages to reclaim her child. Defying opposition from those around her, she makes the bold decision to raise Mari as a single mother.
