Synopsis

Set in the vibrant cityscape of Tokyo, this film draws inspiration from Dostoyevsky’s novel “White Nights.” The story centers on Yasuaki, a workaholic who neglected his family life. After his wife Asami leaves him, the shocked Yasuaki takes a leave of absence from work. His only companions are his colleague Okazaki, who occasionally visits with small gifts to check on him, and his potted plants, which become his sole conversational partners.
One day, Yasuaki encounters Misako, a woman who has been faithfully waiting for her lover Shinichi for three years. Drawn to Misako’s unwavering belief that “love means having faith,” Yasuaki begins visiting her regularly, marking the beginning of an unexpected connection.
