Synopsis

Ludwig van Beethoven, the renowned composer who conquered a rare hearing impairment and left behind numerous masterpieces, was actually a crude and somewhat unkempt man in real life. This work portrays the story of secretary Anton Schindler, who “fabricated” the noble image of Beethoven that has been passed down through history. Driven by a sense of mission to absolutely protect the Beethoven who had rescued him from rock bottom, Schindler transformed the composer’s public image after his death from a “crude and unkempt old man” into a “sacred musical genius.”
