Synopsis

This project was the final concept left behind by director Omori Kazuki, known for The Hippocrates and Godzilla vs. Biollante, who passed away on November 12, 2022.
 
Based on the 1960 film Fundoshi Isha, this movie is set in the closing days of the Tokugawa era, a time when traditional Chinese medicine and Western-style “Rangaku” medicine coexisted. The story follows Okura Takichi, a village doctor who struggles to save the townspeople regardless of their social status or wealth.
