Synopsis
A basket of burdens and pains that are not all the same yet represent what many face in life, these are stories intricately woven with lives intersecting: A former musician (Sakuraba Nanami) who’s lost her boyfriend in an accident. A pro-boxer (Matsuura Shinichiro) with his wife (Kanazawa Miho) who continues the sport despite being over 30. A group of young stage actors feeling uneasy about the future. A middle schooler (Aoyama Sae) who’s thoughts turn to suicide after losing her mother and brother to a natural disaster, and the girl’s dad (Kitamura Yukiya), who’s also lost hope, but wants to live for his daughter’s sake. A woman (Aso Kumiko) battling terminal cancer who wants to live even just a minute and a second longer so long as she can attend her daughter’s wedding.
Although sorrow and apprehension are often dark tunnels, there may be a guiding hand or small light at the end of it: A homeroom teacher (Miyazawa Yu), a kind best friend (Tsurumaru Airi), and a grandma (Tezuka Satomi) putting forth their utmost effort to be a pillar for the ones they love. To support one another, to share with each other, and to lift people up—this is a “common” story that shows the sadness of what cannot be touched and the value of what can.
