Synopsis

This work, based on the non-fiction essay “My Brother’s End” by Murai Riko, portrays a family reunited by a brother’s death as they struggle through the four days of handling his affairs. The protagonist Riko receives news from the police one day about her brother’s death, whom she hadn’t seen for years, and heads to Tohoku. Upon reuniting with her brother’s ex-wife Kanako and her daughter Marina, Riko helps clean out her brother’s apartment, while they continuously criticize the self-centered and free-spirited brother.
