Synopsis

A live-action adaptation of the manga 10DANCE was greenlit by Netflix to be streamed in 2025. It follows two professional dancers, Suzuki Shinya (Takeuchi Ryoma), the Japanese champion of Latin Dance and Sugiki Shinya (Machida Keita), the Japanese champion of Standard Ballroom Dance, who holds the world’s second-place record. Despite dancing on different stages, they are often compared due to their names differing by just one character—a comparison that increasingly irritates the competitive Suzuki.

One day, Sugiki suddenly proposes, “Let’s aim to become champions together in 10 Dance.” 10 Dance refers to a competitive dance genre where dancers who have mastered both five Latin and five Standard dance styles compete across all ten dance types. Initially, Suzuki refuses Sugiki’s proposal, considering it utterly reckless — dancers teaching each other with the aim of reaching the world stage. However, pushed by Sugiki’s provocative and confrontational attitude that stirs his fighting spirit, Suzuki ultimately accepts the challenge, burning with anger.

Two individuals with completely opposite personalities clash and yet, through daily lessons, they gradually polish each other’s skills and close the distance between them. And Suzuki gradually begins to realize that he is becoming attracted to Sugiki…
