All my Japanese media fansubbing projects since I started on July 9 2021, in order of release. Both my completed projects, and the one’s I’m currently working on, alongside some comments.

Second project. While Crazy Rain felt like a borderline student film, this is what I consider my 1st mainstream drama project. And it was pretty interesting, that while it can get really absurd at times, it was still an entertaining ride.
Revenge dramas have always been one of my guilty pleasures, so I was surprised to see one left unsubbed for years, which is why I'm glad I got to do it, it was fun.

My first ever currently airing fansubbing project. The show itself was serviceable I suppose. But being honest, it's the least favorite work of mine out of all so far. I felt I rushed my subs too much and didn't give them the proper care. Thankfully, I've since figured out how to balance things better for current airing stuff.
I would honestly suggest that you choose the Viki translation over mine.

I wanted to give a romcom a try, since it's usually a genre I don't delve much on, wanted to dive into something outside my comfort zone. I enjoyed the experience, though it's not one I really look back on that much.

Drama

Now here's one of my all time favorite projects, not only for how good the drama is, but the friendships I managed to make because of it. I'm not a fan of every one of these food ad-like dramas, but this one manages to balance out the plot and ad elements very seamlessly, while having very likable characters and relatable scenarios. And Marika Ito is just a treasure. Give it a watch.

Drama

I picked this up because of Marika Matsumoto.
This drama started off fine, with solid performances, and some good scenes sprinkled in between that sadly went off the rails by the end. As such, I don't really recommend it.

I picked this up upon seeing a modern drama with Tomoyo Harada in the lead.
Very good and comfy food healing drama that I really enjoyed working on. I love these kind of lowkey shows.

I was curious about the show when I saw the cover and noticed one of my favorites (Ryoko Hirosue) and that it was produced by WOWOW. Seems like it's been overlooked after years, so it feels great saving it from no subtitle hell.

This was a personal request from a dear friend, and a very good one. This is a very engrossing and unique drama that dives deep inside an actresses' thoughts, worries, and ideals. Every single guest in every episode has been captivating, which includes some of my favorites such as Marika Matsumoto, Hairi Katagiri and Sadboi himself, Takumi Kitamura. Very underrated, but really worth a watch!

Movie
(Completed)
My very first movie! I've been eyeing it out ever since I stumbled across it, so when I managed to get my hands on Japanese Captions (which I rely for fansubbing) I jumped at it!
I love the showa era, and these kinds of subgenre yanki films. Nothing says iconic like Toru Nakamura in the 80's! This was a lot of fun to work on!

Someone led me on to this drama, and it looked right up my alley. Tales of love and delicious food and cute vibes to go along with it, can't go wrong with that!

Drama

Subs for this drama were started, but was dropped after the 1st episode. I started from the beginning to keep the translation style consistent throughout. Frankly, I was surprised to see a Mone Kamishiraishi drama left dropped for years, so it felt nice scooping this one up. The drama itself was pretty adorable and felt very manga-like, so if you're into that, there you go.
-
Movie
(Completed)
My second film project. I've always been a big fan of Japanese delinquent-girl media, such as Sukeban Deka, Shoujo Commando Izumi, and Asuka-Gumi. So I was always curious about this movie, and when the opportunity arose for me to sub it, I just knew I had to do it. While the movie might be more style over substance, working on it was surely a treat!
-
Special
(Completed)
My 1st SP project. As a big dog lover myself, this special was too tempting to let pass up. Short but sweet and super adorable, with a nice message.

Drama

I loved working on this drama so much! The tone, the message it delivered, characters and their interactions, it was all wonderful, and overall one of my favorites projects! Every episode was very unique, and the breaking the 4th wall segments were done so well! I highly recommend!

Drama

Quite the neat little food drama about smoking dishes. I liked the chemistry between the two leads and interactions. Every dish in every ep made me quite hungry and curious to try this method of cooking.

Drama

Hard to find any words about this one, not every drama it's a winner I guess. It's fairly mediocre, though I liked the two leads. When it came to subbing it, I liked that it was short, and none of the episodes had that many lines, so I guess there's that? Heh...

Drama

My Magnum Opus fansub project. I gave myself this ambitious "all or nothing" challenge last year. The condition was that I would announce and release these subs ONLY if I reached the end by January 2023, as a batch release. Thankfully I succeeded and this iconic piece of Japanese pop culture is now available in English!

Just off the heels of finishing my biggest project ever, I decided to tackle a new challenge: Sub an entire show by ear. I decided to go with one of my favorite unsubbed sukeban dramas. It was a real challenge, and I wasn't 100% sure if I was gonna reach the finish line, but I did it, and I feel so proud! It's great to have saved one of these sukeban-themed shows from no-sub hell.

My first ever project. I picked it up since it was just 4 episodes, to get my feet wet.
I think it turned out okay for a first attempt. I had some technical hiccups with the RAWs, which wasn't fun especially as my 1st project. The drama itself is mostly a curiosity of a production done in the early stages of quarantine.
