About the Group

During a KAT-TUN spring concert on April 3, 2007, Johnny’s Juniors Takaki Yuya, Arioka Daiki, Yamada Ryosuke, Nakajima Yuto, and Chinen Yuri were named to be part of a new group called Hey! Say! 7.

On September 24th, 2007, Johnny’s announced the formation of Hey! Say! Jump, with the members of Hey! Say! 7 being joined by other Jrs Yabu Kota, Inoo Kei, Yaotome Hikaru, Okamoto Keito, and Morimoto Ryutaro, forming a ten-member group. The group would function with two subunits, separated by age: Hey! Say BEST and Hey! Say! 7.

In June of 2011 member, Morimoto Ryutaro was placed on suspension after an underage drinking scandal and eventually left the group.

In June of 2018, Okamoto announced he would be taking a break from entertainment to study abroad. In April of 2021, Okamoto Keito left the group to pursue a career in acting.
