About the Group
EXILE originated from J Soul Brothers and is the flagship group of LDH. The 4 performers of J Soul Brothers reformed in 2001, when original vocalist SASA left and two new vocalists, Atsushi and Shun joined the group. They made their official debut on September 27th, 2001.
In 2006, Shun left the group. This led to the Exile Vocal Battle Audition, with new vocalist Takahiro joining the group in September 2006.
In 2009, Exile and Nidaime J Soul Brothers merged, becoming a 14-member group.
In 2014, after original member Hiro’s retirement, the Exile Performer Battle Audition was held. 5 new members joined the group: pre-Fantastics Sato Taiki and Sekai, Sandaime J Soul Brothers’ member Iwata Takanori, and Generations’ members Sekiguchi Mandy and Shirahama Alan.
In 2015, Matsumoto Toshio, USA, and Makidai retired from their positions as performers.
In 2019, member Tetsuya temporarily halted activities to treat an injury.
In 2021, Exile celebrated its 20th anniversary.
Members Atsushi and Kuroki Keiji have retired from the group between 2020-2022.
