About the Group

Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) are an English rock band including main members Jeff Lynne, Roy Wood, Bev Bevan, and Richard Tandy. The band was formed in 1970 in Birmingham, England by Lynne, Wood, and Bevan. Their music has been categorized as progressive rock/pop, orchestra pop, and art rock. Much of their sound is a fusion of rock, pop, orchestral sounds, and synthesizers. The band’s activity spans over four decades, generating multiple hit albums and songs. Members Lynne, Wood, Bevan and Tandy were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017.
