The boyfriend of Ikuko, a working woman in her thirties, is Koji Hiroji, a man who freeloads without holding down a steady job. As Ikuko approaches her thirtieth birthday, she starts feeling anxious about marriage and her future. She decides to end her relationship with Hiroji and seriously begins searching for a husband. However, she finds herself unable to break things off with him because she loves him too much. Just then, Aoyama, a younger, high-achieving and attractive man who is Ikuko's junior at work, returns from working abroad, presenting Ikuko with an opportunity to make a change, encouraged by her junior, Nana...

Ikuko is overjoyed when Hiroji proposes, saying, "Let's get married because I'll work." Ikuko purchases a suit for Hiroji's job hunting, and they end up going on a date while he's wearing it. When she consults her junior colleague Nana, Nana suggests that Iku ask the elite and handsome Aoyama to pretend to be her boyfriend. At that moment, Aoyama, who happened to rescue Iku when she slipped on the stairs at work, suddenly proposes to her! And to make matters worse, Haruko witnesses the proposal...!

Ikuko was caught by her grandmother, Haruko, getting proposed to by Aoyama. Furthermore, Haruko catches Hiroji sleeping on the sofa at her house without doing any work.
