Synopsis
Based on the sensational reading play “ROOM” written and directed by Kinoshita Hanta.
The TV drama adaptation is connected to one of the short stories, “Canned.” Set in a resort hotel, it unfolds a comedy suspense tale that portrays the events of four men over a two-night, three-day stay. A novelist struggling with a deadline, a popular actor on a secret getaway with his lover, a salaryman who wants to quit his job over handling complaints, and a kidnapper holding a hostage in his room. What will happen when these men, who were complete strangers, meet?

Several men stand in line at the front desk of the resort hotel: Nanjo Osamu, Natsuki Jin, Himuro Suzuro, and Aoyama Kinichi. They are all strangers, exchanging no significant conversation before heading to their respective rooms. From their attire, some of them don’t look like typical tourists, suggesting each has their own reasons for being there…
Nanjo Osamu, a novelist, arrived at the hotel intending to isolate himself and finish his writing. However, he makes no progress and spends his time idly. Suddenly, he receives a call from an unknown number. The caller hints at committing suicide, prompting Nanjo to desperately try to persuade them otherwise…
