Synopsis

Kindaichi Fumio (Kimura Takuya) serves as section manager of the Planning, Development, and Sales Department at Miracle Thermos Company. Beloved by junior colleagues and coworkers alike, his charismatic personality often helps him successfully navigate difficult business negotiations.

Within the company, an internal announcement reveals that President Oyashiki Iwao has passed away, with his son Toichiro set to inherit the presidential position. Just before taking his final breath, President Oyashiki Iwao revealed something crucial to his son, Toichiro. Upon hearing his father’s last words, Toichiro’s eyes widened suddenly. But what was this unexpected revelation?

One day, disaster strikes Kindaichi. He is framed for allegedly stealing highly classified company information and faces termination from his position. When his supervisor, Moai Kengo, confronts him, asking, “What exactly did you do?”, Kindaichi has absolutely no recollection of any wrongdoing. Although Mogo questions his superiors about the validity of the accusations, believing Kindaichi would never commit such acts, he’s warned that staying quiet would be better for his safety and stops pursuing the matter further.

Meanwhile, Kindaichi’s junior colleague Enomoto Kotaro cannot believe the situation unfolding before his eyes. In the company’s accounting department works Nikaido Saya, a female employee, whose greatest passion lies in seeing zeros lined up in the unaccounted funds column. Despite having no previous connection to Kindaichi, she becomes entangled in the incident after pursuing discrepancies in certain documents related to him.

Kindaichi not only loses his job but mysteriously loses his home and even his cell phone – his only means of communication – instantly transforming him into an urban refugee. In his desperate state, he encounters two young brothers: Maruyama Kanta and Ryota. From these children, Kindaichi learns the survival skills needed to live without money.
