Synopsis

At the Metropolitan Police Department’s Investigation Support Division, Shirato Takamasa (played by Tamaki Hiroshi) works as a “spotting investigator” who relies solely on his memorized faces of wanted criminals to catch suspects hiding in plain sight. With his exceptional memory and facial recognition abilities, he continuously searches for wanted criminals among crowds in busy districts alongside his subordinates, Ando Kanae (Uchida Rio) and Tani Ryohei (Machida Keita). One day, Shirato spots an “impossible face” in the crowd – Sunami Toru (Shibukawa Kiyohiko), a senior detective who died mysteriously four years ago. Sunami had been an excellent “spotting investigator” whom Shirato deeply respected. While trying to dismiss it as a mistake, Shirato begins hearing rumors about Sunami. However, as he investigates further into Sunami’s case, public security and Chinese mafia organizations start moving, and soon Shirato’s own life becomes threatened. Furthermore, the puzzling behavior of his live-in girlfriend Chiharu (Ito Ayumi) begins to raise certain suspicions in Shirato’s mind.
