Synopsis

This story follows Goda Runa, a high school girl living as the “Child of the Fire God,” who attempts to recruit the boy who rejected her into her cult-like follower business. Operating out of the acupuncture clinic she runs with her grandmother, Runa uses moxa infused with her own blood to sell “self-actualization” to her followers. Shunned at school as “the religious girl,” she lives in near-total isolation; with childhood friend Subaru as her only confidant.
Then one day, Runa falls for Kensho, the popular boy at school who saves her from bullying. Unable to suppress her feelings, she confesses to him — only to be rejected, leaving her physically ill from heartbreak. Feeling as though her emotions have been used against her, she resolves to recruit Kensho into her “cult” business as an act of revenge.
