Synopsis

Attorney Kakehi Shiro (played by Nishijima Hidetoshi) works at a small law firm in town. His daily routine includes heading to the local discount supermarket after work, where he carefully selects bargain ingredients while planning dinner in his head, aiming to keep his monthly food budget under 25,000 yen.

Back home, Shiro quickly prepares dinner: three side dishes, seasoned rice, and miso soup. Just as he finishes, his live-in partner Yabuki Kenji (played by Uchino Seiyo), a hairdresser, returns home. The couple, who call each other “Shiro-san” and “Kenji,” share their daily experiences and feelings over dinner, making it their precious time together.

One day, while walking together, they run into Kenji’s regular client, Ms. Sengoku. She immediately recognizes Shiro, saying, “So this is the boyfriend you mentioned? The lawyer who plays the woman’s role…?” Shiro’s expression changes instantly. While he keeps his personal life private at work to avoid prejudice, he discovers Kenji has been openly discussing it not only at his workplace but with clients too. Tonight’s dinner table might be more turbulent than usual…

This begins the story of Shiro-san and Kenji’s bittersweet yet warm daily life together, centered around their shared meals.
