Synopsis

Based on the Chinese danmei novel “Silent Reading” by Priest. This is a censored adaptation of the novel, which will be aired on Japanese network WOWOW for the first time.

Luo Wei Zhao, the captain of the sixth unit of the Special Investigation Department (SID) that handles heinous crimes, receives news of a murder case. The victim is a young man from a rural area, and because the body was discovered in an area where crimes such as drug dealing and prostitution frequently occur, there was suspicion of a connection to previously occurring drug cases. Luo Wei Zhao, visiting the scene with his subordinates, feels something unusual about the corpse. Appearing before him is wealthy heir Pei Su, a person who was involved in a case that occurred seven years ago. Eventually, as the SID investigates the victim’s relationships, Pei Su’s name comes up. Pei Su, who is well-versed in criminal psychology and familiar with the characteristics of “zero-degree empathizers,” analyzes the criminal’s psychology and unravels the case. While the two approach the core of the case, everything was merely the prologue to a series of murders about to begin…
