Synopsis

Aikata Kazuki, a university lecturer specializing in animal behavioral science, has been fascinated by the mysteries of living creatures since childhood. Unable to fit in with others from a young age, he was raised by his grandfather and now lives with his live-in housekeeper, Yamada.

Six months ago, Kazuki became a university lecturer through a recommendation from his mentor, Professor Samejima. However, his inability to listen to others, his frequent inappropriate remarks, and disregard for workplace rules have caused colleagues Kashinoki and Numabukuro to treat him as an oddball. Students like Shinjo and Kotone are often bewildered by his unconventional teaching methods.

Yet, Kazuki remains completely unbothered by how others perceive him. One day, when a toothache becomes unbearable, he meets beautiful elite dentist Mizumoto Ikumi through Professor Samejima’s introduction. Initially tolerant of Kazuki’s free-spirited nature, Ikumi gradually becomes irritated until she finally angrily asks, “Don’t you have any common sense?!”

However, something Kazuki says inexplicably stirs Ikumi’s heart. Behind her polished exterior, Ikumi is a “complicated woman” whose earnestness and hard work have ironically led to her professional and personal failures.
